Description
The mokume-gane technique was invented in the 17th century by the swordsmith Denbei Shoami, who lived in northern Japan.
He was an incredibly skilled craftsman, and one day, while forging swords, he noticed that different colored metals could be bonded together to create textures similar to the intricate patterns of Damascus steel.
The complexity of this discovered technique lay in the fact that metals that are usually almost incompatible could be fused into remarkably beautiful and intricate patterns. These patterns never repeat. They are unique — one among billions. Just as every person is unique, with their own facial features, fingerprints, and strings of the soul, it is impossible to recreate exactly the same mokume pattern twice.
You may have already noticed that every piece of jewellery from the mokume-gane collection is different. Everything depends on the imagination and creativity of the jeweler.
We named these earrings “Seishi,” which means “resonance of waves.” The name comes from the wave-like form of the pattern — it is chaotic, as if searching for a point of balance.
The earrings are adorned with diamonds set in gold. Their transparent brilliance fills the soul with calm and joy that comes from witnessing true beauty.
