Since 1941, the picture of the great Dutch artist "Starry Night" is stored in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Other pictures are scattered around the world: they took refuge in Amsterdam, London, Paris, St. Petersburg.
The imagination of genius reached the limit in the mystical host "Starry Night". All experiences, fears, doubts are reflected in thick smears of blue, blue, yellow, green. The artist painted a view of the pre-dawn sky over a fictional town in Saint-Remy-de-Provence.
The painting is divided into two horizontal planes: a huge blue sky and a city under the shadow of high cypresses. The sky occupies a huge part of the canvas, the artist wanted to show his superiority and power over the world of people. Van Gogh made long, thick strokes and rhythmically alternated color spots - it creates a sense of dynamics, rotation, spontaneity, which emphasizes the incomprehensibility and infinite power of the cosmos. The celestial bodies are greatly enlarged, and the spiraling vortices in the sky are stylized as images of the galaxy and the Milky Way.
The artist's technique was amazing, it's not for nothing that today he is considered a genius insane. The picture creates a flicker effect. and the colors range from pale blue to rich blue, yellow and green. Van Gogh created an incredible sensation of the whirlpool: the sky and water merged into one and are tightened into a transparent galactic abyss. Whom? The world, the artist, the viewer.
It's hard to say that Van Gogh tried to express the best of his paintings. Perhaps deep loneliness in the hospital, perhaps, an eternal confrontation with Gauguin, maybe the complexity of relations with an expensive brother. His mind filled with colors and stammered like a picture. The artist painted himself in the world, and the world in himself.
